Since April 2015, all NHS GP Practices have been required to allocate a Named Accountable GP for every patient on their list, including children. This is required by the Government under the terms of the latest GP contract.
If you registered with us prior to 3rd July 2010 your Named Accountable GP is the GP you registered with at the time. After this date you would have been given a name of a GP upon registration, referred to as your usual GP. This is your Named Accountable GP.
If you wish to confirm who is your Named Accountable GP please ask one of our staff at the Reception desk when you next visit the surgery or the Clinician at your next appointment. Please do not phone as this could lead to excessive telephone queues and may cause delay to those who need urgent treatment. Having a named GP does not prevent you seeing any other doctor in the practice. Please note this is not a 24 hour service. Your named GP will not be available at all times and if your needs are urgent, you may need to discuss them with an alternative doctor. Where a patient expresses a preference as to which GP they have been assigned, the practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate this request.
If you have any queries about this please do not hesitate to contact the surgery.
